August 6, 2015. Thailand has approved the extension of multiple-entry visas to 6 months up from 3 months, doubling the amount of time visitors are allowed to come and go out of Thailand.
Multiple-entry visas for tourists will expire if re-entry stamps are not acquired after a 90 day period which requires the holder to exit and re-enter Thailand every 3 months.
Under the new system, visitors with multiple-entry visas are given an extra 3 months to enjoy their visas, doubling the amount of time to travel as they wish for 6 months to the Land of Smiles.
Furthermore, visitor country restrictions have been removed allowing any nation to obtain a single or multiple-entry visa.
The new policy intends to attract more tourists and promote more business trips in and out of Thailand boosting tourism and the overall economy – including the property sector.
Property and real estate sectors can expect to see an uplift in demand for rentals, higher turnover and greater opportunities for extended stays from visitors taking advantage of the new visa policies.
